Street Battalion will be an advocacy, awareness, support and camaraderie group for Homeless People. Members operate independently within a loyal group with rank and structure. Always Have Each Other’s Backs.
Street Battalion – Moose Jaw Unit
“Always have each other’s backs.”
Street Battalion is more than an idea, more than a name, and more than a loose collection of people who walk the same streets. It is a ground-level movement built on unity, strength, and the quiet resilience of those who know what it means to stand alone—but choose not to let others do the same. Founded in Moose Jaw, Street Battalion carries a mission rooted in authentic lived experience: surviving hardship, supporting the overlooked, and building brotherhood in places where it doesn’t usually exist.
Born from the lessons of homelessness, struggle, and self-reliance, Street Battalion represents a new kind of unit—one not bound by military structure, but inspired by the discipline, symbolism, and warrior spirit found in military culture. Members express themselves through practical or surplus gear, camouflage, or tactical wear, but at its core, the Battalion is about inner strength, not uniforms.
The anchor of this movement is its motto:
“Always have each other’s backs.”
This single line captures everything the Battalion stands for—protection, solidarity, and unwavering loyalty among those who choose to be part of something greater than themselves.

The Four Pillars of Street Battalion
These pillars form the backbone of the Battalion’s mission and identity:
---
1. Support
Survival—urban or wilderness—requires more than skills. It requires people. Street Battalion promotes a culture where no member is left to face their struggles alone. Whether someone needs encouragement, advice, a listening ear, or real-world help, support is the foundation that keeps the Battalion strong. This isn’t charity. It’s comradeship rooted in shared experience.
---
2. Camaraderie
Street Battalion thrives on the bonds formed between individuals who have walked similar paths, fought similar battles, and earned their resilience the hard way. Camaraderie within the Battalion means belonging to a community where toughness, honesty, and authenticity are respected. It’s not forced friendship—it’s earned unity.
---
3. Advocacy
The Battalion stands for those society overlooks or misunderstands. Members speak up for people dealing with poverty, homelessness, isolation, or mental-health stigma. Advocacy doesn’t require politics or protests—it’s about using experience and presence to raise awareness and challenge misconceptions. Street Battalion becomes a voice for the voiceless.
---
4. Awareness
Awareness means situational readiness—not paranoia, but vigilance. Members stay mindful of their surroundings, the people around them, and the struggles others carry unseen. It is also awareness of self: knowing your strengths, your trauma, and your growth. This pillar bridges the internal and external—seeing clearly so you can act with purpose.
---
A Unit Built on Real Experience
Street Battalion did not come from a boardroom or branding meeting. It came from lived hardship—cold nights, long days, and the kind of solitude that makes a person understand what true resilience feels like. From the ashes of homelessness and the grind of survival, the Battalion rose as a symbol of personal strength and communal responsibility.
Each member chooses to wear something tactical, surplus, or camouflage to reflect their connection to the Battalion’s mentality: practical, rugged, resourceful. It’s not a costume—it’s a reminder of capability, identity, and the values the Battalion stands for.
Street Battalion is not a club, gang, or formal organization. It’s a battalion of spirit—a decentralized unit built by those who embrace toughness, self-reliance, and loyalty to one another.

– Founding Officer, Street Battalion
In a recent, and rather unsettling and upsetting development, I, the founder and anchor of the Street Battalion, may possibly have caused some damage from bursting out the door too hard, like a boss! at the local Tim Hortons! This bursting like a boss alegedly happened on Wednesday November 19th, '25. But I am willing to bet a little bit of cred and put my neck on the line to say that I might be able to fix it, even if I had to learn / more teach myself / research how to do it right. Provided that I am provided with the tools and necessary stuff to do the job right.
On Thursday, November 27, I was standing in line at the till when I overheard two police officers sounding kind of confused about the guy who looked like me. "Lol, who doesn't look like me! Street Battalion camo and/or military gear done threw you for one, eh!" That's us having each other's backs in one way or another.
The police served me with a Ban Notice. Apparently, I cannot stand anywhere on the tim Hortons on Main St. property, in Moose Jaw. I told them I didn't know I was banned, that I would just leave, and I handled myself very calm and cool given the circumstances in front of my new family, members of the Battalion, acquaintances, and the general public. Bitches ain't got no f***ing loyalty no more, is a quote I borrowed from a family member of the Battalion about how the cops don't even have loyalty towards a fellow human just because Were homeless, like my little family and my Battalion have for each other! Stand alone but have each other's back! We all do what we have to do. Whether that be side hustling, bottle picking, butt picking, or even running 8 entirely different brands with another brand ontop of the 8 as a parent company and conglomerate, single handedly, we do what we have to do
It took an extra couple of minutes to pack up my tablet, phone, and battery chargers, and get my big backpack on, and then I left. My heart swelled with pride, love, and loyalty when my little family I've been accepted into took off with me! We really don't leave one of our own behind!
Which is a perfect example of what the Street Battalion anywhere in Canada or the world should live up to. Definitely not the entire section or group, but the neccessary backup and support members of the Battalion, or a small family unit, have the wounded members back and keep him on the rails in the moment. We stand independent in our own way, but when the time comes to have each other’s backs, we are there for each other.
More to come later. Keep checking back for updates.
