1. NAME

2. MISSION STATEMENT

“We stand alone, but we have each other’s backs.”

3. UNIFORM REGULATIONS

Every member must follow all uniform standards:

3.1 Military Surplus Requirement

At least one visible piece of authentic military surplus clothing or footwear must be worn.

3.2 Camouflage Requirement

At least one visible piece of camouflage must be worn. Any pattern is acceptable.

3.3 Insignia Requirement

Members must display some form of Street Battalion insignia, including but not limited to:

Official patches

Hand-drawn insignia

Writing on cloth

Clothing with the Battalion name

4. MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Must be homeless or formerly homeless.

5. INITIATION REQUIREMENTS

Recruits must complete all of the following:

5.1 Survival Requirement

Spend 3+ nights in a shelter, OR

Spend 1 night camping outdoors, OR

Spend 3 nights elsewhere without conventional housing.


5.2 Endurance Requirement

Complete a 1 km walk carrying a 10+ lb backpack.


5.3 Loyalty Requirement

Have another member’s back 3 times in any meaningful way.


5.4 Resourcefulness Requirement

Eat 3 meals from any free-food, donation-based, or homeless-support location.

CODE OF CONDUCT (Draft)

1. Have each other’s backs. Always.


2. No member left behind. You check on them, you watch for them, you make sure they’re good.


3. Respect solitude. Members operate independently unless assistance is needed.


4. No exploitation. No stealing from members, no using members.


5. Represent the Battalion with pride. Wear your uniform elements properly.


6. Stay real. Honesty and lived experience matter.


7. Help when you can. Even small actions count.


8. No violence unless in self-defense. This is a support unit, not a threat.

UNIT CONSTITUTION (Draft 1)

Article I – Name

The organization shall be known as Street Battalion – Moose Jaw Unit.

Article II – Purpose

The purpose of the Unit is to provide identity, structure, and mutual support for homeless and formerly homeless individuals.

Article III – Mission Statement

“We stand alone, but we have each other’s backs.”

Article IV – Membership

Membership is open to any homeless or formerly homeless individual who completes the initiation requirements.

Article V – Leadership

Leadership positions (Officers) are earned through:

Demonstrated loyalty

Reliability

Support of fellow members

Commitment to the uniform and identity


Article VI – Units Expansion

Street Battalion may expand to other cities. Each new chapter will be designated:

Street Battalion – [City] Unit


All units follow the same Mission Statement, Uniform Code, and Initiation Requirements unless modified by national consensus.

Article VII – Amendments

Future amendments to this Constitution require agreement from existing Officers.
